STEPHEN KELLOGG

Stephen will be making his second appearance here on Friday evening, October 18 at 7:30. Paste Magazine calls him the “best songwriter that you are not listening to.” 20+ years in the business and 18 albums along with more than 3,000 shows. Come see and hear one of those shows on October 18. You will hear some great songs and probably laugh a lot as well.

A Stephen Kellogg performance is like watching Ted Lasso live. Whether he’s playing music or doing stand-up, his shows leave people inspired and restored. For more than two decades, this wordsmith, Tedx speaker, stand-up comic, author and troubadour, has delighted audiences around the world. Planet Bluegrass calls him “a first class songwriter with a poet's gift for fresh imagery,” and Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz says of Kellogg, “there are few people in rock n’ roll who are just so great.” He has received the Armed Forces Entertainer of the Year award and has had his work nominated for a Grammy. Rolling Stone magazine describes his sound as “John Prine fronting the Heartbreakers.” The recent “Sit Down & Stand Up” Tour was a one man show that opened to rave reviews from fans and critics alike. A mix of music, humor and storytelling, each performance paints a unique canvas that covers the full spectrum of human emotions. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll go home with a full heart.

Returning for his 3rd visit to Hamilton Park, Michael, has accomplished a lot in the 3 years between shows here. A new album, St Paul’s Boulevard, and as always well reviewed! A memoir, Scars From Another Life….a life of alcohol and drug abuse, self destruction, financial despair and the life of music that saved him! In 2022 he won the Tenco Award for songwriting. In truth an award that I had not heard of but counts among it’s winners…Sting, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and if they were not enough…Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Elvis Costello, Randy Newman and David Crosby. Come see and hear why author Stephen King says that Michael “just made me so fucking happy to have ears.”

STEVE NIEVE AND KESSADA INVITE YOU TO “STORIES OF LOVE” - WITH SONGS BY TOM WAITS, ELVIS COSTELLO AND US.

Steve Nieve member of the rock and roll hall of fame, and a Grammy winning Artist, has been playing keyboards for Elvis Costello for more than thirty years, firstly as a member of The Attractions, and in more recent times with The Imposters. Perhaps the most intimate and riveting performances, however, were those where Elvis and Steve toured together creating a spellbinding tour-de-force of piano, guitar and voice. Anybody who has witnessed these or indeed any of Elvis Costello's live shows will appreciate the special magic that occurs when Steve Nieve is let loose to solo on the piano.

Get to experience a full evening of this magic as Steve and his incredibly talented friend, vocalist and drummer Kessada, bring you “Stories Of Love” and transport the Immobile Tour to your home town. After one hundred plus on-line shows since the pandemic began, on Facebook and Instagram, you already know to expect the unexpected from this musical pair of lunatics. For “Stories of Love” you will hear songs and anecdotes around Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, and others. Naturally, Kessada and Steve will also dig deep into their own growing catalogue of songs.

A great new concert to discover.

IAIN MATTHEWS IN CONCERT- accompanied by JIM FOGERTY

Iain Matthews first gained public attention in 1967 as a founding member and vocalist for the innovative music group Fairport Convention. In 1970 he created his own band Matthews Southern Comfort and had a worldwide hit with Joni Mitchell’s ‘Woodstock’. During the 1980s Matthews turned his attention to the business of music as an A&R person for both Island and Windham Hill Records, but was encouraged by Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin to rekindle his creative flame. In 2000 Matthews moved to the Netherlands where he currently lives and works.

Philadelphia Guitarist/Multi-instrumentalist Jim Fogarty has been touring and recording with Iain for 30+ years, in addition to his own solo and in-demand session and accompaniment work. Playing guitar, mandolin, dobro, pedal and lap steel, plus pretty much anything else he gets his hands on, Fogarty is known for his ability to back-up singer/songwriters and cover everything from folk, pop, rock to twangy roots, country and blues, convincingly, but with his own unique voice.

Matthews and Fogarty are releasing their first live CD in September of 2021, “Heart of Saturday Night”.
